catsnfish

A couple of empty-nesters who caught the caching bug not realizing it was incurable. So if we’re found in the woods waltzing with Garmins, lifting lampskirts while tying our shoe or looking for “gum” underneath benches, be sure to stay away... it’s contagious and the only temporary relief can be found in finding bison’s, ammo’s, nano’s, or passing coins and spreading travel bugs!

Clay Pigeons

We are Jim and Mimi Brakefield (Clay Pigeons) from Clay, Alabama. We have developed an obsession for geocaching. We love the thrill of the hunt and the exhileration of the find! But, on the surface, we are two hard working individuals who love the weekends to roam and explore this great state we live in. Between us, we have five children, two grandchildren, two dogs, a corvette and a motorcycle. We love adventure!

Gwyn Calvetti enjoys geocaching in the Driftless area of southwestern Wisconsin and beyond, most of the time with her husband Trekkin’.  When she’s not geocaching, she might be birding, enjoying nature photography or paper arts projects when the weather is miserable. She funds her travels working as a special education teacher and is also a professional storyteller.  She caches with a Garmin, but has been known to use a Magellan, too.

il imperiestro

Hi,
I'm "il imperiestro". I'm 42 years old, divorced, with three children. Since my kids stay with me half of the school holidays, my colleague and friend "Hammer of Doom" introduced me exactly one year ago in the wonderful world of geocaching. One year later now, I've got about 550 founds on my counter and what started off as an innocent pastime for the kids has become an bit of a healthy addiction :-).

I am a substitute teacher at this time. I aspire to teach mathematics in the middle-school, or high school setting in the near future.  I have been married to the same great lady for 15 years. We have three girls who are 13, 9, & 7. I found my first geocache on December 24th, 2008, and I have been hooked ever since. My geocaching goals are to reach 10,000 finds before my oldest girl finishes college, and search for geocaches in Latin America and Europe.

I became obsessed with Geocaching in January of 2009, although I had
heard of the sport way back when I bought my first handheld
GPSr, a Garmin ETrex, when they first were introduced.
My favorite caches are the ones that take you somewhere off the beaten
track.  The one's out in the woods, or in hidden parks,
and the one's that someone took a lot of thought into creating.

I have been geocaching since January 2008. I’m a student in high school in Minneapolis. I enjoy spending time with my parents, sister, and cat. I’m 16 and I have a part time job at a daycare, I want to go into the field of computers after high school and college. Geocacher for life.

Kabuthunk

I've grown up in the Canadian countryside my entire childhood.  This may well be the main reason I enjoy the outdoor adventure of geocaching so much.  Then again, I've never been accused of being 'normal'.  I write an online webcomic (Planet Zebeth), make chainmail, have various unusual hobbies or collections, and geocache (obviously).  Obviously this could go on, but let's keep this succinct... my geocaching logs as of late are averaging over 500 words as is. I like geocaching, I like storytelling, and so here I am.

KC5NVJ

In the world of Geocaching (and ham radio), I am known as kc5nvj, but to family and friends I am Angela Cunningham. I was born and raised in Louisiana but currently reside in Kentucky with my husband and daughter. When I'm not thinking of a new article to write for onlinegeocacher.com, my days are filled with a full-time job at a local high school as a teachers aide in the special education department, a full-time mom of a three year old (hyper) girl, a full-time student (enrolled in online classes for Psychology) as I hope to one day get my Psy.D Degree (Docterate of Psychology) and become a Clinical Psychologist, and finally a part-time Geocacher. I say part-time because I am still new to Geocaching and can't wait to get out and about and hunt some more. You are welcome to leave any feedback to articles I write as well as send any features you would like for me to touch base on. I look forward to this new adventure and hope many of you find Geocaching as much fun as I do. E-mail:  kc5nvj@yahoo.com

Mimi Barrison of M&M Melted

Mimi Barrison of M&M Melted

Originally hailing from Long Island, New York, I moved to the Tampa Bay area of Florida with my family in 2005.  In terms of my life as a geocacher, I was first half of M&M NY in July of 2003 on Long Island...and of course, once we moved to Florida, we became melted M&Ms, aka "M&M Melted."  From the very beginning, it was all about the experience and the journey to us...and we've had so many incredible journeys and made some great friends.  ...and now that I live in Florida, I am forever amazed by the swamps, the mangroves, the forests and all the other typically Floridian natural and wild places that we continue to discover here!

MommaDirtClod (MDC)

MommaDirtClod (MDC)

MommaDirtClod (MDC)

In 1988 I moved from Florida to Tennessee – it’s now my home. My hubby (Dozer) of 25 years saw a news story about Geocaching on May 4, 2003. That night we went out for our first adventure. Our first endeavor was a DNF and then we found four more and signed with our new geocaching name – Dozer&thedirtclods. I’m MommaDirtClod-MDC and my two girls are clods with me (reddirtclod and baby dirtclod). If you have to know, Dozer is a pipeliner so the name spawned from there.

My second (or first) hobby is NASCAR. I’ve been a fan of Dale Sr. since ’78. I’ll always miss the Black #3 car…Forever the Man & Forever a Fan.

I travel all around the country, visiting family and friends, staying with my hubby, or caching adventures…whatever I’m doing, I’ll always make time to log a few caches.

RITA

Baby DirtClod

I’m the baby dirt clod and just graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. I only cache when my MDC makes me or if I’m in the mood. I’m too lazy, I think. I like the trinkets and toys, though.

I live in Florida away from the dirt hill – so I’m more of a Baby Sand Clod now. I’m always on my computer, love to write, and love my two nephews! Life Is Good!

"My husband, Chris, and I have been active, but casual, geocachers since May 2004 and we've just got to our 600th cache milestone.  We live in Wales, United Kingdom, within easy reach of coastal, woodland and high moor scenery. Geocaching is a hobby that we both enjoy in various ways: I'm the one who does the cache logging and most postings on the forums and plays around with our trackables. Chris is more into the technical side of the hobby and creates unusual cache containers and he's also one of the U.K. cache reviewers."

nanncyan

The wife and I have been geocaching about three years now.  We enjoy the exercise and great scenery.  We are surprised by the parks that we never knew exsisted right in our own back yard.  We live in Comstock Park Michigan.  We are fortunate to have thousands of caches within a short drive.  We are recently retired and plan to cache around the country.  Who knows maybe we will be in Washington next July for GW VIII!  Our goal is to keep geocaching fun.  I hope our stories relate that to others.

Raised loving the wilderness and camping, it only makes sense that I am still a lover of the wild...mountain climbing, mountain biking, camping and hiking led to a love of caching after I bought my Jeep Libby and found the GC site while looking for fun things to do with it! I'm chock full of memories and stories, sit right back and let me share a few with you! :)

A strangelet is a hypothetical object consisting of a bound state of roughly equal numbers of up, down, and strange quarks. An equivalent description is that a strangelet is a small fragment of strange matter. The term "strangelet" originates with E. Farhi and R. Jaffe. Strangelets have been suggested as a dark matter candidate.

Trucker Lee

Trucker Lee began caching in August  2006 after stumbling across a GeoCaching news article,  seeing it as a way to occupy down-time and encourage exercise while working.   He can currently be found driving in the continental United States,  when not parked to search for caches.

caching for 3 years, I cache with my 2 dogs Dakota and Tristin. I prefer traditional caches that require hiking and that are located far from town.

vartan84

Geocaching came along when a high school friend introduced me to it in September 2008. I embraced it and started caching after work and then on lunch breaks until I had found most of the caches within a 15 minute radius of my job. I recall hearing about geocaching once and visited the website years ago, perhaps as early as 2002, but at that point I didn't know what a GPS was or how to do the hobby. I actually still don't own a GPS myself (yet), and have to thank my next door neighbor- another fellow geocacher- for letting me have hers on a long-term loan. We've cached together a few times as well and once went out very early in a morning to get our first FTF.

Web

Stories found on the web.

Whistler & Co. (B.Grace)

Whistler & Co. have been caching since the summer of 2005 in the wilds (and not-so-wild parts too) of Northeast Pennsylvania. Although their first 1000 finds were made with a little yellow Etrex, they have since upgraded to slightly more sophisticated GPSr's. However, they firmly resolve never to go paperless, preferring to cache in the "Amish" style. Whistler & Co. consists of Whistler, who does the dirty work, and his wife, who does all the story writing, picture taking, cache logging, forum kvetching, errand running, etc. Any and all opinions are hers, not his, but he'll agree with them if she bribes him with his favorite supper!
